8:50am Monday 13th February 2012

HUNDREDS of majestic oak trees are to be planted across Hampshire to mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
Hampshire County Council is planning to spend up to £250,000 on events to mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign.
Letters have been sent to more than 500 schools and parish councils across the county inviting them to take part in the tree-planting scheme.
